# 1285  All Greater Rochester 2017

The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team today. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by Canandaigua senior Attackman, Devin Andrews who was named "Player of the Year". Andrews, who was also a US Lacrosse All-American, scored 72 goals and 47 assists this year. The SportsFive Offensive Player of the Year plans to study and play at Stony Brook next year.

Canandaigua attackman Devin Andrews scored 7g-2a for the Braves (11-4) when they beat Penfield (6-7) at home tonight. Joe post was 21-26 at the draw and added 11 ground balls for CA. Geneva (8-4) held Penn Yan (6-7) scoreless in the second half in their 5-1 victory this afternoon. Geneva goalie Jacob Drennen recorded 24 saves for an amazing 96% while Sam Miller led the offense with 1g-3a.

# 1211  Gates Chili Fights Back in Fourth Quarter for Win

Gates Chili scored two goals in the final minute to secure their first lead since the game opening goal and defeat Eastridge 14-13.  The Lancers led for nearly the entire game and had two different 5 goals leads over the Spartans.  Gates Chili scored five of the last six and eight of the last ten goals in the comeback win.  The game winning goal was scored by Nicholas Ehmann with 0:11 remaining on the clock.

Eastridge scored the last two goals of the contest to secure an 8-7 win over Greece Arcadia/Olympia. Overall the contest was an even match with both teams having opportunities to secure the victory. Freshman attackman Donovan Fagan assisted Andrew Doktor for the final goal of the contest for the Lancer win. Fagan finished with 1g-2a in only his second game on Varsity.

The All Star list is out recognizing the Monroe County League players for the 2014 season. Senior midfielder Eric Munn (Canandaigua) and defenseman Nick Panara (Pittsford) were named US Lacrosse Academic All Americans. Junior midfielder Kevin Hill (Thomas) along with senior attackmen Trevor Hodgins (Churchville-Chili), Justin Kesselring (Fairport-A/M) and Stephen Quinzi (Pittsford) were selected as US Lacrosse All Americans.

Eastridge scored the first goal and only allowed the game to be tied once in their 10-9 win over Greece Arcadia/Olympia. The Lancers opening goal was scored by Clark Pearce with an assist from Andrew Doktor. Pearce finished the game with 3g-1a to lead his team. Attackman Donovan Fagan also finished with 3g-1a for the Lancers.

Senior midfielder Kevin Hill (Thomas), attackman, Connor Hulme (Canandaigua) and Long Stick Defenseman Allen Thibodeau (Fairport) were named US Lacrosse Academic All Americans. Senior midfielder Brandon Barker (Pittsford) along with senior attackman Max Spaan (Penfield) and senior goalie Willie Klan (Penfield) selected as US Lacrosse All Americans. Juniors Jared Conners(Pittsford-LSM), T.D. Ierlan (Victor mid/fo) and Jamie Trimboli (Victor - mid) were also named as US Lacrosse All Americans.

In a game that was tied seven times, Brockport scored the game winning goal with 1:17 remaining on the clock to secure the 13-12 win over Eastridge. Both teams led during the game with the Lancers holding the lead for much of the second half. Their largest lead was three goals (in the fourth quarter). The Blue Devils never led by more than one goal.
